...Just looked at your blog Mick for the first time.<br />Although I was born in Blyth (incidentally love the blogs about it) I was brought up in a village near Burnley.<br />I was a regular attender at Turf Moor in the early sixties. The blog about John Angus brings back many happy memories of a team that were the 'cream' of English football at the time.<br />John Angus was not exciting to watch (not like centre-forward Ray Pointer who was from Cramlington if I remember correctly), but he was cool, strong, difficult to beat and had great distribution. I was always disappointed that he did not get more English caps as he deserved more.
