I always ,like a lot of people Thought the window at St Paul's was original and not put together in the 1970's, and it's a combination of glass found in Jarrow ,and Monkwearmouth, and that Monkwearmouth is older than Jarrow abbey. I always wondered why the glass was so abstract, and not some sort of religious illustration. May be all this glass was broken during Viking raids, and the later raids by that lovely man King Henry the 8th god love'im. Anyhow, I think Wearside should be given more mention in this sort of thing instead of always taking a back seat when it comes to history, and most other things for that matter. I've watched history programs on Tv that Mention Jarrow then fly straight pass Monkwearmouth without a bye or leave. Then resume the program in Durham. It's not acceptable. I wonder what the original window looked like.Cedrick Finlyhttp://envyhomeservices.com/noreply@blogger.com
